I can hear you saying “What does blessings have do with writing fears?” When you suffer from writer’s block it’s tempting to question your ability to write. You might be listening to a few of these; “you’re not a writer,” or “why do you think you can write?” Essentially, you are blocking yourself with negative thoughts. And that downward spiral can keep you away from the page for a long time.
The way back to writing again is to count the blessings in your life.
- Feeling grateful changes how you feel inside. When you express or feel gratitude, you’re acknowledging that there is good in your life, in you, in the world and all around you. Make a practice to count your blessings both morning and night. You don’t even have to write them down, as in a gratitude journal, if that seems too overwhelming.
- Try not to put too much pressure on yourself to come up with grand examples of gratitude. Just appreciating your bed where you’re starting and ending the day can be something to add to your initial list. Sometimes simply recognizing a tiny blessing can have a big impact.
- Finding gratitude can feel challenging. There are no rules. Just like there’s nothing too small or too big to be grateful for. With gratitude you’ll be able to recognize and appreciate what you have rather than what you don’t.
Writing is a powerful practice. As you begin to become aware of what is good and positive in your life, what is good and positive will grow. And soon you’ll be rid of your writer’s block.

Hire ME as your book writing coach
If you’ve tried everything else and nothing seems to be working, it might be
time to hire a writing coach. A writing coach will listen to your ideas, give
you feedback, and help you brainstorm when you’re stuck.
But one thing a writing coach won’t do is put up with your excuses. He or
she will call you on them. You’ll be challenged to keep working on your book,
regardless of what’ going on around you and encouraged to keep at it until
you’re done.
I am the Book Coach to guide you through the writing
process. I will provide structure through accountability, actionable and
achievable goals to transform your words into a finished manuscript. I’m like
your personal trainer for your writing journey! Together we’ll break through
